I've been busy painting a side board that I got at a garage sale. It's so cool...but I'm not posting a picture of it yet because I still need to install the knobs. Meanwhile, let me show you the piece of furniture I DID NOT get at the same garage sale. The granddaughter of the couple hosting the sale wanted to keep it. I almost went on my knees begging her to sell it to me, but she wouldn't. I took a picture of it just to torture myself on it.
Ahh! another reminder that the sale on my Etsy shop ends on Wednesday and two of my pieces are reserved for an exhibition coming over. I'll give more details later.
See you soon!
Such a cool piece; I can see why you wanted it. It's terrible when you find something you want so desperately and can't have it - It makes you want it all the more. I am this way when I find something at the thrift shop, walk around a bit trying to decide whether to get it or not and when you decide to get it, it's gone. This happened to me last week with a vintage orange toaster oven. :( Who knows, it may be available to you in the future.
ReplyDeleteI love this groovy piece of furniture you found. What a score. Karin
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your new/old sideboard! Sorry you missed out on the desk - it's fab!
ReplyDeleteTell us more about the exhibition coming up! Which pieces are you going to show?
V, I'm very sad that this one got away from you. I know exactly how that feels. I used to be a pest control tech. for a few years and I just happened to work in a sector of Atlanta Ga where there where some MCM homes. Many of the people where in their 70's & 80's with AWESOME PIECES rotting away, and they would not sell them for anything. SO VERY SAD THAT IS!!
ReplyDeleteTikimama, how is it that I always follow your comments? Can't I ever be first?
P.S. I'm still around, but just barely.
That looks awesome. Sorry you couldn't buy it.
