Sudden Inspiration

My son had his second piano recital yesterday. It took place in an old church nearby. We made the BIG mistake of taking my daughter too. She was yelling and running around while everyone was so silent...I had to carry her into a nursery room I had no idea about. Once we entered, I saw this big, green-mustard-brown, so cool, mid-century rocker !!!! I couldn't help taking a picture of it. Note the texture of the fabric...sure I'll print this picture and use it as paper for one of my pieces... More inspiration !!!

The second picture was taken after the recital was over...She wanted to play the piano too !!

The Rock and the Fungus

I believe everything is related in nature. The rock was "born" out of the empty space left by the spot in the fungus. Or, was the spot "born" after I cut the shape of the rock ? We are all just one whole thing, definitely.

This original and prints with the colors of my past will be available for sale soon.

Gotham News

She did it ! A got my little exposure on Cathy Nichols' blog today. Thanks Cathy!

"Gotham City" work in progress by Veronica (who has my favorite name). She was playing with shapes and cut-outs when this cityscape emerged. She talks more about the process on her brand new blog today!"

Doubtful

I'm constantly inspired by nature, but I tend to see things in a different way. I love to paint things the way I see them, or the way I want them to be. That's why I add movement and "sound" to my artwork, and human characteristics to other living things. It's too hard for me to hold quiet images on my mind.

Can you guess the music in this one? I still don't know if I should call it "Dancing Trees" or "Dancing People," though the initial intention was to paint a "Dancing Forest". Help ?

"Gotham City"

Talking about weekends...I wrote the last post a few minutes ago on Thursday, convinced that it was Friday. I must be excited about a possible post of one of my paintings on Cathy Nichols' "Found Art Friday" posts on her blog.

I was just playing with some cutouts and cutout leftovers when I realized I had a cityscape. The sky was lime green and the buildings were purple. I added a moon, a sun, doors, some skyscrapers and..."Gotham City" was born. I guess the neon colours and circus-like environment reminded me of Gotham. It's magical...perfect location for a crazy weekend...talking about weekends, have a good one !

Four Little Originals

I love these originals. I painted them one after the other and they look so cool together. Their tittles are, from top to bottom:

"Serenade" (6"x6")

"Bike Trail" (6"x6")

"April Showers" (6"x6")

"What are you looking at ?" (6"x6")

I particularly love the last one. Feels like I'm taking a nap in the woods and all those trees looking down at me...love to see things from a different perspective. Talking about woods, can you catch the bike-trees on "Bike Trail"?

They're not for sale yet, but soon.

Have a creative weekend :)

Welcome !

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I'm a mom of two, so you'll guess I'm always busy. Combining both job and motherhood isn't easy, but at the same time that's usually where you get the inspiration and motivation from.

I usually get inspired after lunch, when my two-year old takes her nap. This is when I got time to paint, meditate, research, and get creative. I'm always in pj's, so old I wouldn't mind getting some paint on them, so we can say I'm always ready to paint after my princess falls asleep.

One of the projects I worked on during my "spiritual brake" was my dining table. We used to have a big rectangular one, but we moved it to my studio because my baby hit her head every time she ran by. Silicone protectors didn't work, so we carried upstairs an old rounded wooden table to replace ours. I painted it orange since I have an obsession on this colour, and added brown stretched spots to pretend the circle was been pulled from the outside. With the first spots, it looked like a flower to my nine-year old boy. Too "girly" he said. After I was done, it was the coolest thing. I called it "Sun Spots".
